What nice tasty things have you made from your crop?
I am enjoying tasty sweet cherry toms just as they are and runner beans and courgettes with our dinner most nights and salad leaves and beetroot, celery and green peppers every day for lunch.
So far OH (chef) has made
Several apple crumbles, apple strudel and apple strusel. Apple sauce and Apple cake.
Greengage jam, greengage crumble, Greengage jelly.
Tomato apple and basil jelly
Tomato, apple, courgette and celery pickle.
Pasta sauce from Toms, courgette, onion and basil.
Stewed fruit mixes for breakfast with muesli.
He is also experimenting with wine!
Still to come are sweetcorn, squashes, chillis etc and loads more toms. We have the first large ripe Aubergine ready to pick and some small ones coming. So pretty much all of our meals are coming from the garden. We are so thrilled.
