Anyone got a green tomato recipe (non-chutney)?

Looks like my tomato crop is going to be a very green shade of red by harvest time.
Anyone got any recipes apart from chutney? If not, I'll just do the chutney, I just never eat that much to warrant chutneyfying it all.

Had a look, but only found chutney recipes.

I know it sounds odd but green tomato wine is very nice.

Try this....
2lb sliced green tomatoes marinated for half hour in
1 tsp Tabasco
1 tsp worcs sauce
1 tsp soy sauce
Combine in a large bowl
8oz flour
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp powdered mustard
1/4 tsp cumin
Coat tomato slices with this mixture then fry in groundnut or veg oil till brown and crisp.

Well sadly I've been told today that I need to cut my fruit and veg down to 2 portions a day!
Crazy, but 5-a-day isn't good for special cases like me, something to do with high potassium levels.
So I'm going to have to preserve them so I can eat them in small doses. Will probably make either chutney (after all) or green tomato ketchup I saw a recipe for somewhere.

Oh dear, thats a surprise as usually the docs want everyone to eat more veg. I would be very upset to cut down to 2 portions a day, I absolutely eat loads of fruits/vaggies. I hope your levels come down and you can resume your 'healthy' veggies.

Apparently potatoes are pretty high in potassium, especially if you don't boil them (as a large amount seeps out into the water). And since I harvested my potatoes I've been eating quite a few baked ones.

Now I need ideas for preserving tatties.

Once the weather is starting to get colder, you can simply keep them in a clamp.

make a raised earth platform (of drainable soil) cover thickly with straw, pile on the spuds, cover with loads more straw, cover with earth (leaving ventilation holes, maily where rain can't get it)


Earlies simply don't keep that well (second earlies are better) but any spud will store in a cold (but above freezing) and dry store-place for a few months. They just don't remain 'new' for long.
