I'd dip half and leave to dry and then dip the other half. Then, once the first layers have set; using a fork; dip the whole into the chocolate [sit it on the fork don't stick the fork through], and then place on greaseproof paper to set.

If the items are cold; then it starts to set as soon as it touches the item; so you don't get slipback.

I was thinking about trying to reproduce ripples, but I don't have anything blowy and don't fancy covering them in spittle!

Will try this method, sounds like a good way to avoid having a join in the coating.

I also need a conveyor belt with 'Ollietopia Inc' embossed on it to imprint the underside, just like Crunchies!

Nah- don't bother with the greaseproof paper- just stick them directly into your mouth...and eat....simples!

Well despite your excellent suggestion zaz, I went for this idea:

A small amount of molten chocolate poured into mould, honeycomb bars pressed back into mould and chocolate forced around sides.

Moulds topped up with molten chocolate

                  Bars chilled and removed.

I have toyed with the idea of redoing them to fully cover the missed bits, but I think that just adds to the homemadeness. I'm pretty chuffed with the result

Stand in line, girls - I'm the one for Olliecentric eulogistic remarks!

That is some serious cooking, Ollie!

BTW - what happened to the toothpaste guy?

I'm gonna have to stop spending time on here, it is costing me too much money! I've just ordered one of those red tray things Ollie to make my crunchie bars in!!!

Which recipe did you use in the end?
