  • Yoghurt cheese balls or lebneh makbus

Thought I would pass this on as i love it and its so easy to do. It also makes graet xmas pressies or appetiser

    6 cups (1419.54ml) greek yoghurt
2tsp (9.86 ml)salt (this can be left out, but adds an extra oomph)

    Mix yoghurt and salt together
Strain in a muslin cloth over a bowl for at least 12 hours for cheese, or 24 hours for cheese balls
Roll the cheese into balls of about 1tbs in size, you can vary this if you want
Chill in the fridge to firm, the longer you chill the firner they will be.

You can add all sorts of flavourings, garlic, chilli, lemon, walnuts etc and you can roll them in sesame seeds, chives, walnuts etc
    The varieties are endless.

Store in a sterilized airtiht jar and cover with olive oil. If you refrigerate the oil will cloud. Have been advised it shouldn't need refridgerating? But I always have so far.

    Enjoy!

How do you use it in the scone recipe? It seems a shame to chuck it. Would it work the same in a sweet recipe a well as a svoury one do you think?

You've just saved the day! We've got a ton of milk to use up (since Mr R stopped drinking it, but milkman hasn't changed or order!), so I'm making loads of Greek yoghurt and paneer this afternoon, and this is a great way of using up some of the yoghurt!

          Thanks!
          I don't roll on Shabbos
