      1) Chicken casserole, but I just can't make it like my mother used too, so its not the same really.

        Home made cream of tomato soup, crusty bread followed by lemon sponge and home made custard, washed down with a large glass of milk...yum.

                            I'm with Bernie on this. Mash any day, cold weather or not! If you make too much (never happens!) you can add a little SR flour and seasoning till it mixes up into a dough and fry it as potato cakes - brill with egg and bacon. Or sausage. Or by themselves!

                              Potatoes - any way! I could happily live without pasta, rice or bread, but never without potatoes.
                              But really any food is comfort food for me - I love to eat!
                              Life is too short for drama & petty things!
                              So laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly!

                                Home made pea and ham soup
                                Leek and tater soup (home grown and home made)
                                Cottage pie
                                Sausage and mash with onion gravy
                                Braised steak with shallots and mushrooms, and mustard mash.
                                and my current fave, Bolognese sauce on top of cheesy mash.

                                I seem to have a bit of a potatoey theme going on here.
