    May or may not be of interest to people.
    Anyway heres how i was taught to make this simple treat
    You will need.

    12 SAUSAGES OR SAUSAGE MEAT.
    4 TINS OF MUSHY PEAS (CHEAPEST ARE BEST)
    3 CARROTS (THINLY SLICED)
    1 LARGE ONION (THINLY SLICED)
    1 PT WATER
    SALT AND PEPPER TO TASTE.
    SPRINKLING OF GARLIC SALT (OPPTIONAL)

    Skin sausages and brown just slightly in a saucepan with a little oil. Add onions and heat for just a few minutes. Add carrots, peas ,seasoning and water. Bring to boil and then turn heat down very low and cook for at least 2 hours.
    Serve with french bread.
    SERVES 4-5

        sounds ver yummy. it reminds me of my time in the mob and clod days saw us make things like pot mess, corned beef hash. I especially used to like kidneys and what we called s**t on raft. if only I could remake those lovely recipes. I am sure all would like them. I will give the coddle recipe a go.

          When I was at uni one of my housemates made coddle to his grandma's recipe. I seem to remember him using milk instead of water.
          It was nice, not amazing, but I liked the idea and this sounds far better.

                Never heard of using mushy peas. You forgot about the white pudding though.
                Have to say, I wouldn't think of eating it. It was a traditional Dublin dish. I was born 6 miles from the city centre and coddle would never have been on our menu. My Hubby was born in the city centre and his mother cooked it regularly.
