Boy am I glad you guys bumped this! I bought a whole bunch of parsnips today with the idea of making soup for the OH to take with him to uni (I have housewifey pretensions now that I have to stay at home) and I had a vague idea about curried parsnip soup. I will have a go at this...although will have to leave out the cardomon as the OH hates it but it should work fine without

I used a spice mix that I ponced off my Mum, as I didn't have the necessary spices at the time. It was delicious. I haven't been able to find that mix again, sadly.

Thanks for this, I saw that Sarz had a pan of curried parsnip soup on the go, so came here to check, and lo ... here it is. Will be trying this tomorrow as need to buy a couple of ingredients. Ta.

Hmmm I tried to make do with a couple of other ingredients. I used a concoction of spices I'd bought back from Senegal, but the dry roasting bit rendered my kitchen uninhabitable. Proper throat wrenching, nostril exploding smell that ensured that all 5 people currently in the house have wracking coughs.
Sure it will taste nice when its done though??
