  • I want to cook something....nice

Hiya i want to cook something nice, you know weekend food, but not sure what.

Have looked through Nigel S Kitchen Diaries and a bit of Nigella but can't find anything that fits the bill.

I think its turning into one of those restless days where i can't settle down and do anything.

What are you would you cook???

    If in doubt - flatbreads.

A couple of cups of any flour, and a teaspoon of yeast.

Add water until it stops sticking to your hands.

    Knead.

Roll out, and prick with fork.

Either grill as is - or spread with pesto/onion/cheese/chili/peppers/olives [all or any] and grill until ready.

    Eat hot.

        What are your main ingredients?

I felt like that last week - ended up stuffing some aubergine slices with feta and sultana cous cous, and baked with pork and marjoram meatballs in a tomato/chili sauce. Served with yoghurt and mint leaves.
        I don't roll on Shabbos

If in doubt, I make a biryani.... either chicken or veg!!

Tonight's tea is caribbean curried mutton (cos I couldn't get goat!) and tomorrows tea is slow-roast pork

One of my favourites is the Hairy Bikers Somerset Chicken. Unbelievably yummy.

Anybody got a foolproof recipe for anything? Lady s wants to cook something nice too. In 40 years of marriage she has never quite achieved it. The boiled egg wouldn't have been bad if she had remembered the water.

Why didn't Noah just swat those 2 greenflies?

Why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together?

The fire brigade still hasn't forgiven us from last time.

                        Sarraceniac thats so mean.

My OH dials a mean pizza and has been known to collect a good chinese. He did try to cook a while back and everything he did had to have a fried egg with it.

One night pork chops, supernoddles and a fried egg. :O)

DS bread in interesting shapes in the oven. ingredients for greek salad brought. Strawberries and cream for pud. Husband at least 1hr away still working. (

Smallfrog. I am the 'man' of the house. Our division of labour is - me - garden and food. Lady S. - everything else. I hate cleaning and washing (clothes) and ironing. Jacqui hates cooking and gardening. So it works. Oh and I have to walk the dog as well, despite having bought him a road map for Christmas.

Well tonight, as I'm cooking....when don't I?! I'm doing breaded mushrooms with chive & garlic dipping sauce, followed by steak for Mr TK and fresh tuna for me, with a pepper sauce and frites! Just a simple meal for us tonight!

There are examples of our dinners on my blog, might give you some ideas. I just adore cooking!

I'm going to have words with OH.
I would love Cooking gardening and even walking the dog. I seem to get everything bar loading dishwasher and putting the bin out. Because i work "part time" i think was his reasoning. :O(
