  • Coco beans

My local farmer has just given me some dried coco beans, not sure what to do with them.
    Any recipes.

is it a dried French bean: if so, just use it as a kidney bean (you don't mean cocoa do you?)

They grow tons of them just down the road from here - les cocos de Paimpol.

Boil in water for about 20 minutes.
        Drain
In the pan, fry some onion and garlic. Then, add the beans, chicken stock, a little tomato purée and let cook for another 20 mins. Add stock if necessary.

You can add bacon (lardons) if you like, herbs..... whatever takes your fancy.

I've got some Black Coco beans from HSL this year to give a try, the plants are looking great in root trainers and am hoping they will taste good too.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Here's an info pdf - sounds like they're mainly sold/eaten 'semi-dry' from the pod..
