  • Turnips?

I don't think I've ever eaten a turnip before... so I'm growing some. I was planning on either roasting, or steaming it - but wondered what you lot do with them? When would the best time to harvest be?

I've a couple just a bit larger than golf balls - they're purple milan. Really excited, as it'll be the first proper veg that I've grown from seed that we'll eat (other than leafy stuff).

    Thanks!

When they're golf ball size, just grate them onto a salad

Once steamed they melt in your mouth and are yummy!

I like them diced with carrots. Add a bit of butter and a scrape of pepper. Delightful!

I tend to eat mine about golf ballish sized, either steam them and eat with carrots or roast them whole. Either way they're very nice - my most advanced ones are only at seedling stage and the next row was only sown yesterday so I'll have to wait a while yet for mine

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
