I know its best to use the indirect method but do i cover it with foil or leave it open? flatten or leave as it is? etc etc any help gratefully received or i'll just have to go it alone and who knows WHAT it will turn out like!! thanks

I've cooked whole chicken, spatchcock, and rubbed with various herbs and oil etc. Also Piri-piri is good. I don't cover with foil but depends on your barbie and the thickness of your chicken. I usually choose a smaller one to cook on a barbie. I would also shove the herbs underneath the skin to keep them from burning.

I have also cooked one on an impromptu spit made out of twigs etc., over a campfire, with no utensils as such. Bit of a challenge, but was fine and tasted great.
    I don't roll on Shabbos
