Cooking broad bean pods

Just got this from Abel and Cole but apparently you can deep fry broad bean pods.

Just about to pick some today so may brave them!

Do you take the beans out of the pods, and then deep fry? Sorry to be a bit thick, but I wasn't sure.

We have steamed the whole pods (beans and all) when very small, and they really are very nice.
