  • Citrus chilli relish recipe please

Does anyone have a recipe for a chilli relish that uses Serenade chillis, red onions, orange, lime , red wine vinegar?

I bought a relish from a local chilli farm and was hoping to try and replicate something similar but don't know the quantities of each to use. I am happy to experiment but was hoping someone would have a decent relish recipe I could use as a base to start with.

I have a loaded Serenade chilli plant ready to go

I havejust seen the chilli jam thread and may try these too but really want to try for the relish.
    Thanks Helen

Well I am answering my own question here !!

I had a go based on the percentages on the side of the jar and it is fab!!

    I used
    2 red onions
juice and grated rind of 2 oranges
juice and rind of 1 lime
    2 Serenade chilli.... including seeds
    garlic
    light brown sugar
    red wine vinegar
    salt

chopped the onions and chilli in a mini processor
bunged everything in a pan and boiled for 10 mins and the taste is great.

will continue to refine the process, maybe pre-cook the onions a liitle first and need to get the liquid to be a bit more syrup like but the taste is there more or less.

The original contents had horseradish so may try that too!

this is a great tasting fruity hot relish for meats and ploughmans... give it a go

not sure how long it will last in the jars but I expect we will have eaten it before it goes off
