  • Help needed with my chilli jam!

    I'm in the middle of making Nigella's chilli jam recipe as I type ... what's the white, scummy sludgy stuff? Bad news? Do I remove it? Stir it in? It seems fairly solid, not really scum at all.

    All help appreciated, thanks!

    All done now! Whatever it was, it reasorbed, and the little jars look gorgeous! I wondered if it could somehow be pectin released by the jam sugar?

    Anyway, love this, would recommend it to anyone!

      hi Caro probably too late but I've made chilli jelly this afternoon and some cheese with the leftover pulp.
