First Leeks and Brussels of the season are being cooked in my kitchen today.

Although the last of the chilies are being turned into Nigella's Chili Jam [and Chili Drizzle Sauce, just cook for a few minutes less]....

Nought at the moment, This Sunday I have been getting rid of my tomato plants and having a clear out of some cupboards.
Will be making a tuna pie for dinner this evening though...sorry its nothing interesting

Experiment no 4 with soda bread recipes. HFW's version this time, using yoghurt not buttermilk.
Roasting off the last of my butternut squashes - good crop ruined by frost so they are starting to go mouldy. This means a huge batch of soup and frozen chunks for use in other recipes. I just don't know where to find room in the freezer though.

Snap Jeanied. Baked my ciabatta and my 2 remaining squash have been cut and are now in the oven. My word, that was hard work.
I am doing lamb shank for dinner. I wanted some butter beans but can't find them in the freezer. Hopefully some of the squash will be edible. Served with baked potato and cailiflower cheese.
Apart from that I am in the middle of giving the bathroom a blitz. Tile grouting does get manky don't it.

Completed all my cooking/bottling for this year, although the chillies in GH are still growing. I made the Nigella recipe a few weeks ago Zazen, it's fab.

Soup with the last of the battered toms which are past their best for eating raw and then spuds, carrots (VERY proud of this years crop, much better than last year due to better spacing), turnip, onion and parsips with tea. Had the first sprouts last week and was impressed how solid I'd managed to get them this year so will be able to serve them up to in laws on Christmas Day without shame

It was going to be Apple & Elderberry Jam, but I got sidetracked by a huge bag of kale, pak choi & spring onions.

So I've just finished scrubbing them, marinading Himself's pork, then we'll have stir fly

None of my broadies are big enough to pick yet (still flowering), JA's foliage is all dead but they wouldn't go with dinner tonight. Apple crumble for pudding tonight (sister's apples) and I have bottled some beer and put the sloes, sugar and gin together in a demijohn.

Do you mean broad beans by broadies - didn't know you could grow any for harvest at this time of year.

I fancy doing some chilli jam.

What I HAVE done is poached a chicken for stock and meat for risotto etc.; all bagged and in the freezer now; a huge pot of chilli, and another of sloooow cooked ragu, all to be popped in the freezer to fill it up a bit.

Also bunched up another few armfuls of herbs for drying - they're all lined up in the shed but taking forever to dry. I've promised some to a couple of people of here (sage and marjoram I think), so I haven't forgotten you - just taking ages to fully dry out for some reason.

And some carrot and toffee apple muffins, which are supposed to be for the children, but y'know... I need to quality test a few probably.

Made a batch of mince pies with homemade mincemeat, some sausage rolls and my first attempt at vanilla fudge.
