  • Spring greens

I decided to buy a couple of these this week, as I havent grown or used any before and thought I would give them a try before growing myself next year.
I steamed it with some broccoli and carrots for dinner tonight and found it to be quite bitter. Is this normal? Would home grown ones taste like that, and does anyone know a way of cooking it that stops it being bitter. I have another head of the stuff and would like to try some other method of cooking it.

According to the packet they are British Spring Greens, Sweet, Tender and Full of Flavour.

I suspect they are grown in a mahoooosive greenhouse with a closely controlled microclimate.
