    I do enjoy brussel sprouts just boiled, but today I decided to try them out oven roasted with a pack of Yorkshire Cured Ham. It was a good way of having sprouts as part of the main event, rather than as a side dish.

    Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
    Chopped country ham
    Lemon juice
    Olive oil
    Salt & pepper
    Garlic, chopped

    Combine sprouts all ingredients in a baking dish, tossing sprouts to coat. Bake at 375° for 30 minutes or until sprouts are tender and lightly browned on edges, stirring twice.

    I served the above on a bed of rissoto rice.

    I got the idea from a recipe on the internet last year, which I think also included some breadcrumbs and cheese to top it off.

    Next time I might add a little chilli and some chopped onions and 1 of my favourite veg, roasted peppers.
