Maids of Mince

Tried a different recipe Thursday night - working on the premise that there are no mistakes in cooking and gardening - only 'experiments'.

Mince pies with pastry on the bottom, mincemeat and then a topping of whisked egg white, a little sugar, ground almonds and some almond esssence. Sort of maids of honour only more festive! Pronounced a success by the guys at work and OH.

Sounds lovely although, I still have to make the mincemeat so they might be a new year treat instead.
