But it's not a slow cooker, unfortunately....
Oh, spoilsport I can't justify one in any way, shape or form but they look so cool that I was hoping to share the love vicariously
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

We've got one of these - had it for years. When it goes bang, it will be replaced with an identical unit.

Prestige ceramic slow cooker on eBay (end time 28-Jan-11 20:38:42 GMT)

Mine is actually a Russell Hobbs, the good thing about mine, is that the crock-pot lid handle is ceramic, so it can also go in the oven. My Sister has a similar one, but the handle on her lid is plastic, so her one can't. Best to check before you buy.

I've got a big one eek:
Usually use it for meat but it's also a Godsend when I've got masses of pumpkin to cook...you can only fit so much in a saucepan or baking tray...the excess get popped in the slow cook with some curry mix and left to do it's thing...just need to watch you don't put too much liquid in.
the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.

Happiness is not having what you want, but wanting what you have.xx

You could also wake up to a nice pot of porridge.

I checked the wattage of the 2 from Lakeland I mentioned before, and they were around 200 watts. But as you have the option of a low setting , which is maybe 100 watts(?), I'm not sure why so many reviews I've read, complain about newer models getting to hot and over cooking.

Enjoy buying your new toy tomorrow and maybe you'll have to start a new veggie slow cooker thread, so us meat eaters can be introduced to more veggie delights.

                            I will do Dottie.

I'm even planning on what slow cooked delights we are having tonight - Mr Z is at the footy so it gives me a timeline to work to.

Well as your home today and don't need a 1 pot dish, maybe try a recipe that does not include root veg, have mash or chips done separate.

Exciting, I love trying out new kitchen gadgets, as you get something tasty to eat and get to play with a new toy too.

Back from the footie, curry sounds good.

I'm going to chance the veggie curry [which i've been cooking from scratch since I was about 12] and see how the slow cooker goes.

I got a 3.5l oval crockpot - in purple. It's just being washed up now; and the veggies are being prepped in about half an hour. Once I've read the destructions.
