can anyone suggest a good way of cooking fresh herring. i bought some today they have been gutted and had heads chopped off.

hindsight is a wonderful thing but foresight is a whole lot better -
Cut off the fillets then coat in oatmeal and fry. Serve with peas and boiled souds. Delicious.
