I think the green is much better than the white but the french beg to differ. Monsieur P will eat both with no complaint, however! I can get bith at Super U but the green is darned expensive!

Yee ha. Been to the asparagus/stawberry farm today, Bought far too much asparagus, but should use it all.

No sign of strawberries yet. Patience is a virtue. (Apparently).

Oooo, now then...Jeanied is visiting at the moment and she brought some with her. We've had then on muffins with pocked egg on top. Also steamed with new potatoes, sprout tops, carrots and home made P.S.B quiche.

                  If so- in what way?
( I'm presuming it'll be more tender as it's never seen the light - but is the flavour actually better- or blander/more delicate???)

Boble- have you seen green asparagus plants for sale over here???? ( next year project I hope!)
I saw them in a local Villa Verde 2 years ago for about a euro a crown I seem to recall.
Only time I've seen them though.

It's been a really good harvest so far this year. At the weekend we had the asparagus wrapped in pancetta and roasted for 10 minutes, served with soft boiled eggs and used the asparagus as soldiers - completely delicious!
