  • Buffalo Ricotta

I was driving past Daylesford Organics today, so popped in to see what all the fuss was about.

They didn't have any pre-made sandwiches - but they had a hooge array of lovely organic food on offer.

So, as I was on my way back to school; pre-lunch - I picked up a baguette and a tub of Buffalo Ricotta as I hadn't taken my own lunch today.

By heck, this cheese was gorgeous!

    I just wanted to share.

    Thank You.

Hmm we tried buffalo mozzerella and it had the same effect as cows milk mozzerella on my DD, so all the claims about it being less likely to have a reaction, are wrong....

"proper" mozzerella is amazing, most unlike the plasticy stuff you can buy in the shops in those bags with watery stuff in

It's silky, and milky and lovely.

Was it a brand/trademark "buffalo" mozzerlla or something sneaky like that northepaul? You know, how Tesco have "willow farm" and naughty things like that? i.e. lets call this cows milk, buffalomilk(tm) and that'll fool people into thinking that they're drinking buffalo milk when it's just our farmed (battery) cows. *round of appaulse at the board meeting*.

My comments were about ricotta - not mozarella!

Daisy had a pretty major cows dairy intolerance as a toddler...I tried some Buffalo cheese with her and she managed to keep it down...maybe it depends what element of the dairy the intolerance/allergy is to?

Hmmm maybe I dont know - its an astmatic thing mainly. The buffalo mozzerella was from Riverford Organic, so I would assume it was authentic.
I dont think it would matter, Zaz, its the type of milk, not type of cheese

Although I will just point out, she's fine with goats milk..

I know - I was allergic to dairy for 10 years. However this was a thread about the joys of buffalo ricotta; not about the problems with buffalo mozzarella.

Not to worry. I'll enjoy it alone. It's too good to share anyway.
