When there's 'Ugger All in the cupboard or fridge..... I like to put two slices of bread in the same slot in the toaster 'back to back', so that the outer-sides get toasted, but the inner-sides don't.
When they 'pop up' out of The Toaster, it's mandatory to SCREAM like Katherine Tate did in her sketch show a few years back, and then you spread the toasted side with the best mayo in the world (H) and then pile onto that, loads of your home-grown CCA Salad leaves, a grating of any cheese out of your fridge, and every single morsel of homegrown tommies/cukes etc. that are within an inch of you, mixed with a spritz of balsamic vinegar and xtra virgin olive oil.
It keeps the inside of the sandwich 'toasty' but less soggy than normal, and is just ever so tasty.
Once my CCA leaves start to come good, with a goodly mix of rocket in there, like today.....I can feed myself a working lunch every day of the week for virtually zilch.
Add a grating of raw beetroot.
Just do a tupperware of it without the bread.
The possibilities are endless.
