We've had high winds here and a lot of cherries have been blown off the tree.
They're supposed to be back cherries- but these which have dropped off are at various stages of orange to red- so almost ripe.
My question is - will these make good jam?
I made black cherry jam last year and didn't know about adding lemon juice so it was disgustingly sweet . So I wondered if maybe these not quite ripe cherries ( no real flavour tbh) would make a nice jam- maybe mixed with some other fruit- or are they only fit for composting???
Any suggestions welcome!
