  • Radishes past their best

    Hi all
Ive been away on 2weeks of jollies and come back to find everything has grown double the size. Courgettes into marrows which i make use of in chutney but im stuck with what to do with the radishes. They are huge! past their best for salad as they have gone fluffy inside, but i feel loathed to throw them on the compost. Any good ideas of what to do with them? recipes etc

You could do what my brother and his GF do with the ones me mum always puts in for them and just leave them to flower The flowers are really pretty though. Maybe you could stir fry them(?)

They really aren't edible once they've gone hollow & fluffy ~ have you tried one?

TS, is spot on again. bung them in the compost heap and at least get some good out of them.

think i might boil an mash one and see what happens, failing that flowers, compost and sowing some more it is!

Let them seed and eat the seed pods. Spicy!

mm boiling NOT a good idea! stank the house out followed by severe warnings from the other half of what the heck is that and please dont boil them again!

it didnt help the woody texture either. will leave some to seed and see what the pods are like but the rest are for the compost. LOL
