Lemonberries ???

Has anyone heard of lemonberries? I hadn't, but a friend has a tree/plant and it produced a reasonable number of the berries. She bought it last year (or maybe early this year) at Lidl or Aldi.

I'd love to know something about them, if anyone has the info.

I remember seeing them being sold and wanted to buy a plant, but they'd sold out before I got to the shop (I think it was Lidl)... Having said that, I just googled for lemon berry plants and lemonberries, with no returns that were relevant. Would your friend still have the label for the plant by any chance?

Thanks, SarrissUK - I continued to look for information and found none, but today my friend sent me a text to say that she'd found the label of the plants and they're actually

RASPBERRY ALLGOLD.

I'd never heard of those, never knew there was a 'golden' raspberry. They're delicious, though.

I have a bed of all gold at home, I like them, some people don't. They're a milder flavour, and make great jam

I like em cos they are a funny color - I have a thing about growing things that aren't the colour they are supposed to be!
