  • Posh apple tart

First you need a sweet pastry case so either bake one blind or cheat and buy one ready prepared
In the base spread either a thick layer of apple puree or as I had some apple butter I'd made I used that.
Wash , core and slice (in wedges) your apples (eaters not cookers) and if you have one of those gadgets that you ram down over the apple it makes the job easier.
Melt 1oz butter and mix with juice of one lemon and 2oz of caster sugar and toss your apple slices in it then arrange them on top of the puree.
Pop in the oven 180 Deg C for about 20-25 mins till golden.
Melt 3tbsp apricot jam/ quince jelly (or whatever) with 1 tbsp water and use as a glaze whilst tart is still warm .

    Tada..........piccy will follow later
S*d the housework I have a lottie to dig
a batch of jam is always an act of creation ..Christine Ferber
