You can also make it with parsnips, they don't take as long to cook.
About 400g sweet potatoes (or more)
1 'very full' teaspoon runny honey (or golden syrup if you prefer)
1-2 chillies, very finely chopped
1-3 cloves garlic, " "
1Tblspn dark soy sauce
1 Tblspn 'special' vinegar (wine, cider, balsamic, whatever you've got)
1Tblspn oil (I used sunflower)
Mix together
Cut sweet potatoes into fat chips, place on roasting pan, drizzle the mix over, put in hot over (gas 6-7) roast for 45mins, basting a couple of times.
If using parsnips, they only take 30 mins.
The amount of garlic and chilli is very much a matter of personal taste.
