Plus if you save your parmesan cheese rinds (aka parm butts) they're a good addition to any soup, best to fish them out before blending or eating though.
I do keep my cheese noggins in a bag in the freezer, but they normally end up in cheese sauce when I do a cauliflower cheese. Never thought about using them in soup. Nowt wasted in this house.
