Growing your own lessons learned for 2013

Given that the seasons have been playing fast and loose the last 3 years,especially 2012,i was thinking,anything learned that we can at least try and help to get us of to a better start,mine is
Do not plant things to early,
Take vermin precautions,
Label and log things all the time,
Don't sow to many,seeds at 1 go,
Make better use of space,
Jump on the weeds,sooner,
Ask peeps for the lawn mowings for mulch,but ask about any weed killers,
And not be afraid to use,the odd few slug pellets{wisely & responsibly}as i want to feed us,not them

all good advice except don't jump on the weeds You'll just compact the soil <chuckles>
