We've been trying them whole (slicing any thick bases), in a tortilla-type arrangement, with diced potatoes, tiny bits of mild chorizo and goat's cheese. Really nice.

I don't grow it due to lack of space, so my wife bought some the other day from the supermarket, we steamed it and added butter, it was like trying to eat hay. Quite disgusting.photo album of my garden in my profile http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...my+garden.html

If it's the white, then it's more difficult. You have to cut off the ends, then use a potato peeler to peel all the nasty haylike stuff off.
