  • Pressure Cooker Recipes

I have finally taken the plunge and bought one of these exploding, kitchen destroying thingies. OH thought it would be a good idea for processing passata and the like.

So what else do you use them for - stock, soup, stews, Christmas puds ...?

Don't have one anymore but they are good for Christmas puds, steamed puddings and for sterilizing in jars. I found that meals cooked in them all tasted the same but I suppose stock would be alright.

      We have one if these

Pressure cooker and slow cooker in one, we use it all the time. Curries, soups, stews, pie fillings, roasts etc

The roasts, rustic cut root veg and onions roast in and stock pressure the slow cook for a few hours, take out finish in oven for 10-15 min or pork rub salt on skin and grill. Stick blend stock abd reduce on stove in saucepan for gravy

Personally I'd have to disagree with roilet but each to their own.

Ohhh pork ribs fresh in sticky sauce pressure cook 45-60 mins take out allow to dry off slightly and then on barby with the sauce reduction as a basting sauce nom nom nom

Bren, I still have not plucked up the courage to test mine out.

It's been slow cooker week this week (mixed bean chilli with dark chocolate mmmmmm).

I was planning to use mine for all sorts, once I get over the initial nerves.

Thanks for the link, Bren - I'd forgotten about that thread!

I confess the thing is still packed in the box at the moment. Nerves here too.

Once you get used to the scary sounding hiss noise you'll both be fine

That's the thing, mine don't hiss like the traditional stove ones... Missus wouldn't have one of them, the one pictured above she's far 'appier wiff

I used to have one and it scared the living daylights out of me so I gave it away. But, I do remember it doing the BEST chicken chasseur in about 20 minutes fridge to plate!!!
