I only have the one perfect squash kept from last year (Super Mario as he's known) - any advice about the tastiest / best recipe you've found for his last meal (so to speak)? Or are there any recipes you tried and found disappointing ...

Brilliant with bolognaise.
Baked the squash in two halves, face down on baking tray.
Make bolognaise sauce.
Scrape 'spaghetti' out of squash and mix with the sauce.
Put mixture back into skins, top with grated cheese, bake in the oven until cheese melts...
Eat!

I'm torn now between the 2 ideas ...
binley100 - have you roasted other whole squashes successfully - I've also got a Sweet Lightning left - would it be the same principle - stab and foil - and is it the same principle as meat - 20 minutes a pound plus 20 minutes?

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Spaghetti squashes are the only ones I roast whole but I eat them differently too as use them as a pasta substitute whereas all other squashes are either mashed or left in chunks.
