A little help would be appreciated....i have managed successfully for the past 4 years to pickle my allotment grown shallots.however this year`s crop are not as firm as in previous years and on bottling them i am aware of the softness to the bulb. I have had them out of the ground for about a month to completely dry off,which is no different to previous years when the shallots have been excellent.any advice as to why this has occurred this seaon would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
