    Hi,
I'm in the middle of a cauliflower glut, any suggestions on how to use them other than cauliflower cheese, I'm getting sick of them Need some imaginative new ideas.

Cooked cauliflower mixed with cooked potato and sautéed onions, then made into flat cakes dipped in beaten egg before shallow frying makes tasty vegetable burgers a little like Bubble and Squeak.
Cooked peas added to the mix adds colour too.

Hi Canny! Welcome to the vine. Cauliflower is great in curry either added to a meat curry or in a vegetable curry. I make a dead simple cauliflower curry with tinned tomatoes, curry paste and cauliflower. Very tasty as well.

Cauliflower & Stilton Soup is nice & I hate stilton !! Failing that Curries as LJ says. If you've got some other bits n bobs you could do Piccallili (that looks like the welsh spelling with too many L's )

You can never have too many L's in welsh spelling. If you can't get the Phlegm up when talking what’s the point

I'm not a cauli fan myself, but my big sis has been known on many occasions to add it to a stir fry alongside broccoli.

I would suggest cauliflower and cheese soup - I've got a great recipe using chedder and wholegrain mustard it's delicious!. I'll post it up tomorrow if you're interested - it's a bit late to go routing around my kitchen for the recipe.

                      Cauliflower and Chedder Cheese Soup

(This makes quite a lot as I always freeze it in portions)

                      2 medium onions
                      2 cloves garlic
                      3oz butter
                      2 cauliflowers
                      1 tablespoon of wholegrain mustard
4 pints of boiling water with 2 veg stock cubes added
100ml double cream [or you can use milk if you don't have cream]
                      4oz grated chedder cheese

Heat butter in a large pan. Add the onion and garlic and cook until soft and clear. Whilst the onion and garlic are cooking, chop the cauliflower as fine as possible. Add the cauliflower to the pan and stir well. Add the boiling water with the stock cubes. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes stirring regularly. Add the mustard and cheese. Season to taste. Add cream [or milk] and then blend in a liquidiser or by using a hand blender. Serve and enjoy!

Hope you like it! It's one of my favourites.

No probs - i've got tons of soup recipes. My mum used to make soup by the gallon and we had it everyday as a first course and I guess I'm just carrying on the tradition even though I've not got a family to feed. I just make it in batches and bottle it up and freeze it.
