Two gorgeous plum recipes

We have had a ludicrous amount of plums off the tree at our new house this year. I am actually glad the crop is nearly over.

But along the way I found two absolutely cracking recipes that I thought you might enjoy if you're trying to cope with a Plum Glut.

The cake has got rave reviews on the site, but even though the plum flapjack recipe only has four stars, I thought it was fabulous.

I wish I had some plums!!! Crumble is one of my favourite comfort puddings. I recently made some apple and rhubarb ones which were very good. My usual combination is apple and blackberries.

Have you tried plum butter? I made it one year with plums from my neighbours plum tree which is over hanging a lot into our garden and she said I could happily have all the plums on my side. I found out it was a traditional preserve for a polish Christmas so gave some to a polish colleague who loved it and said it tasted just like her mother used to make. I would say the consistency is a bit like a plum 'lemon curd'.
