    As I'm drooling (not a pretty sight I can tell ya!) at the thought of my first rhubarb of the year, I thought it might be interesting to share interesting recipe links?

      Using Roasted rhubarb eh?.....new one on me!...bet that intensifies the flavour?

        Recipe for gooseberries but works equally as well with about 10 oz rhubarb. I find there's not quite enough crumble topping so I change the quantities from 75/50/50 to 90/60/60.

          Have also had good success with curried rhubarb chutney.

          As with most American recipes you can slash the sugar content, probably by nearly half.

                  After cooking rhubarb for most recipes you end up with a fair bit of liquid in your pan. Take it away, add a bit more sugar if you like and cook it down to a syrup. Put in fridge then when it's gin and tonic time a slug of the syrup in the bottom of your gin is very nice.

                    I'm looking forward to making a shrub with a stalk or two of mine

                    I'm currently working my way through a blood orange shrub made a few weeks ago and I have a lemon and parsley shrub to move onto next. I'm thinking rhubarb and ginger would make a lovely shrub.

                      I have a few early stems that got blown down by the wind. Going to stew them tonight with sugar and nutmeg and either have for pudding or stick on my overnight oats for breakfast. Cake will be happening later on...

                          I made an old weight watchers recipe with my first rhubarb.
                          Dead simple and very low in calories....
                          Make a pint of sugar free jelly using excess rhubarb juice, cooked rhubarb and a couple of big dollops of yogurt, and some water to make up the fluid...and stir thoroughly.
                          Leave to set...simples and very tasty if you can get over the slight synthetic sugar flavour.

                          For those of you not on diets, it's even more yummy made with proper jelly!
                          Very refreshing!
