It is definitely easier, I got 3 instead of 2, I think I deserve a pat on the back
Although I disagree with answer number 7 as I said trees, although it comes up as the wrong answer, I'm sticking with trees

1: the only greek stars I remember are Demis Roussos and Nana Mouskouri.

              2: Partick Thistle?

              5 Jane.

8 I always get two people mixed up as they wave the same first name. It's the one who doesn't sound like a Reed Warbler. But the studios shut down so it's probably a car park now

9 The Avenue of the Baobabs. Hmm go down the road to ruin, make a left on the Highway to Hell. Then take the Boulevard of Broken dreams to the end. Milton Keynes

              10 Monty Dons?

12 You can also get very drunk with one of these

              OK I think I know 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12

My answers for the first are:

1: with the stem word for astronomy/astrology I'll go with Aster

3 Parsnip does this - watched a program about when parsnips attack and the woman had blisters and major burns all down one side from carrying the leaves. As for the second plant - Giant Hogweed

                      4. salix is willow - I doubt it's the Womping Willow so I'll go with Weeping Willow. I also now have Niel Diamond singing in my head. How annoying.

                      6 Australia

                      7 True

8 Percy Thrower. I always get him confused with Percy Edwards

                      11 True.

12 Coincidentally (or probably not) it's the same as 15 litre bottle of champers. Nebuchadnezzar

                            Euphorbias.

And fig leaves can do the same. (Must have been a bit uncomfortable in the Garden of Eden then )
