  • Spa day

My daughter has paid for a spa day as an early (quoi spit) Christmas present, on Sunday. She asked me to go on their site and choose my preferred treatment. I can't. i mostly don't like any of them. I would love a facial that sorted out my eyebrows that are virtually non existent. The only one that does that includes a mani pedi which is a joke as I couldn't give a monk£ys what my nails look like as long as they are clean and non broken.

I think I might have to put up with the mani pedi and enjoy the swimming

Sounds like a lovely gift. Me, I'd go for a massage. Hope you have a great time, whatever you choose.

Either select the treatment that includes what you want (I’m guessing your daughter wants to pay for it in advance as part of the gift rather than you paying on the day). When you get there if you explain the situation they will most probably let you swap the bit you don’t want in that package for something else. They all have packages of treatments to buy in advance on websites but normally there is loads more options of individual treatments when you get there.

Or give them a call and see what different options for treatments they can give you, if you tell them what you want done with your eyebrows they should be able to suggest other things they can do with it that you might like better.

Agree with Blue, just ting them up and ask.

How kind of your daughter to give you a spa day treat. Whatever it is, I'm sure you'll enjoy it and feel better for it afterwards.
Its made me feel generous as well - so I'm going to ignore your use of the C word in September.

I'd be reluctant too I'm afraid, it's not my thing at all! Enjoy what you can of it, it's a gift after all

I’ve had a fantastic day. There were 4 of us and we spent most of it laughing. I’ve never been one for girly days out but this was fun. The quandary re treatments was easily resolved as my my daughter had booked so late there were none available. I had a sort of free facial from a demonstration where we tried out lots of expensive “products”. Lots of money off if we bought them that day. It’s nice to know that they’re what the Beckhams use. However, I don’t have their income and no matter how wonderful it is £149 for a pot of cream with £50 off doesn’t do it for me.

Yesterday I went to my annual school reunion where several alumni who’ve never turned up before, did. One of our number decided to ignore the organisers rule about only our school year and turned up with others from the year above and below us. One was one of my best friends when I was at school and we sat together and reminisced. And laughed. He also brought along someone from the year below and when she walked through the door you could hear the telepathic thought from every other woman in the room, “lucky girl ”. She’s blonde, skinny, looks 40 (we’re 71, so she must be 70), and very beautiful. What makes it worse is she’s a nice person.

              Lovely weekend. Now i’m home with a g ‘n t. Sigh!

It wouldn't be my idea of fun either but it sounds as if you had a lovely time! Sometimes when we aren't looking forward to something it can surprise us.
