So very sorry to hear this sad news.
You will be badly missed Potty.
      My sympathy to his family.
      R.I.P, Potty.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

His last two posts were on the What makes you Happy thread. I think if you can find things to be happy about right up to the end, you've not done so badly in life.

                  Still, sad news

                        What sad, sad news.

Such a generous person with his advice, ideas, and humour. My heart goes out to SWMBO and all his family.

He will leave a hole on the vine not easily filled.

A real nice guy and I got such a shock to read this news. For me, my endearing memory of Colin (yes most of us referred to him as Pots or Potty) was how he started and contributed to one of the most pleasurable threads on the vine on the subject of growing onions from seed. We haven't been made aware of the cause of his death but I really do hope it wasn't after a long and painful struggle. He wouldn't have deserved that.

Potty's last post was on the Happy Thread on 10th August. He passed away "suddenly" the following day.
I have spoken to the Funeral Director who has confirmed that this was "our" Potty. Such a sad loss.
