Acton Scott victorian farm

we visited that yesterday. not amazing from the gardening point of view, although it did have a small cottage garden, which had an info piece about cardoons describing them as "highly overrated" :-)

but lots of interesting animals and some things to see and do (we watched a wheelwright demonstration and got to hold a day-old chick), absolutely beautiful setting.

I have lovely memories of a perfect picnic with Husband at Acton Scott. We watched the butter making and the ploughing, then bought some butter for our picnic and sat fending off the ducks while we ate it.
