Good idea for those that want to but my idea of Christmas tips is - how to ignore the phone on it’s yearly ring and what to have with beans on toast to make it festive.

I’m sorry if the above sounds flippant but I amongst many others who do not have (or want) the happy family Christmas.

Oh bugger I feel guilty. Sorry Nicos. I’ll come to you next year.

This is my first Xmas with no other family members with us-after 33years!
Going to take some adjusting I know

      So...just put up the tree.
Shed a few tears for absent ones, but D'ya know?... tis lovely to concentrate on here and now!
I have a lot to be grateful for compared to others...and the good thing is that I know this

So....more tips please so we all enjoy these next few weeks

        Festive beans on toast?
Many years ago I went to Jamaica and the eco hotel served 'baked beans' for breakfast, but served with fine slices of chilli.
OMG! Utterly superb!...do try it , Tis utterly, utterly sublime (if you like spices)

Fry the chilli first then stir in the beans...mmmm.....

I'm with you, Lumpy, you can come over and share my beans on toast.
You can have a fried egg or cheese on top to make it "special" - whichever you fancy. A dash of brown sauce is another option! I like to have a full menu to choose from.

If it helps, I'm ignoring all the festive threads (including the GR) and leaving those who want to "celebrate" do so while I live my life my way.

            ^^good for you!

We all need our own release at this time of year

Strangely I have an inner child I can't cast off!

(Try fried lardons mixed in with the beans...rather yummy too!)

But do try the 'champers'.... mmm....

Just make sure your tin opener is in working order,if any power cuts, beans can be eaten cold out the tin, saves on washing up into the bargain, roll on new year

"lardons" were once animals - so they're definitely off the menu
I'm not trying to be a party pooper, but "champers" is like "pop" -but a glass of red is a good substitute.

Enjoy it, everyone, whatever you do, eat and drink.

I am a real traditionalist when it comes to Christmas...regards food and family....not into any of the religious add on's. I prefer the original pagan celebration.....eat and be merry

Would you like a Hot cross bun? I've just eaten one - honest.

Its the first time we have had Crimbo in our own house (previously in tied accommodation) so we have left no stone unturned. Christmas tee and lights, lights around windows and French doors and across mantelpiece. Even got wreaths on the doors. Last three years we had nowt so its rather refreshing.

Agreed but it's pop that makes you giggle and wobble . It's great. I don't worry about saving it for special occasions

I can "giggle and wobble" without pop. I agree about not saving things for special occasions - every day is special.
