Xmas hampers

Just bought some wire topped bottles from Poundland. I'll make my usual couple of gallons of non alcoholic ginger wine methinks and add some to hampers. I remember my Dad used to have a sherry glass of it each winter work day morning before walking to work. Keeping up a family tradition by making it.My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

A bottle of ginger concentrate added to a gallon of boiling water and mixed with 2 lb of sugar.
There used to be two types of concentrate, one with added chilli which I found made it too hot.My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order

I often made hampers in the past with home made stuff and often included the Swedish chocolate balls that every family make with their kids - they are that simple!
100 g butter
1 dl sugar
1 msk vanilla essence
3 msk cocoa
3 dl rolled oats
3 msk cold strong coffee
coconut, chopped nuts or sprinkles
Melt the butter and let it simmer for a few minutes on low to medium heat so that it develops a lovely nutty, caramelly flavour in a large pan. Then take of the heat, and mix in all the other ingredients apart from the stuff you want to roll it in. Chill in the fridge for about an hour, then roll into balls, and roll in your sprinkles/nuts/coconut.
Wrap up in cellphane for a simple, but effective addition to your hamper!Last edited by SarrissUK; 15-12-2018, 11:47 AM.
