I paid for a trip to the Cheltenham races for my OH's 60th birthday. I was so, so ill but the day had cost me a lot of money. Bless him, he had a hip flask of whisky mac and a backpack of champagne, you couldn't say he was anything but classy.

Depends what bugs I have, but if they’re bad enough to stop me doing what I’d rather be doing, I have plenty of options up my sleeve.....
Sore throats get gargles of strong salt water (same osmotic effect supposed to kill the bugs), or honey and lemon to sooth.
Runny nose gets lemon garlic and raw ginger to chew (stream for 10 mins or so, then dry up for couple of hours, so can get on with what I need to do), or just let it run and carry plenty of hankies.
Blocked nose gets steam and menthol.
Headaches get hot drink and, if needed, a couple of paracetamol.
Feeling generally rough and achy gets hot blackcurrant cordial, duvet, hot water bottle and either a magazine or the tv remote
