Looks like I haven't dropped in to say hello yet. How very remiss of me.

So, morning FF. Good luck carpet hunting.

Not much going on here. Managed to get up very early and water before the sun was even over the horizon. Well worth doing. No wasps, no flies, no heat. Very pleasant. And the squash flowers (all male, unfortunately) were looking magnificent too.

Busy day with work again. Plus, got a lad coming round tomorrow to help with fencing. So, got to get a lot done and things ready for him.

Afternoon from me. I was up early as I had a blood test and a few errands to do.
Amazing how little people are out when the shops first open
All done and a bit of food shopping, back home before the rain started.
Been raining ever since, and set to stay.
I will need an umbrella to pick my runners for dinner .....

That amused me!! Imagining all these little shorties (like me) with their child-sized shopping trollies. Am I the only one who wants to push one of those around the shops?

Good afternoon
I did a trial with sowing seeds into course sand (perennial sweet peas) and a sand and worm compost mix both in the same module tray so watered and maintained at the same temperature I used 2 packets of seeds 1 put into the other and mixed so everything equal, the sand side has no growth and the sand and worm compost I have about 85% germanation, I am a bit disappointed with the results as the sand by itself would be a bit cheaper though when I think on it the worm compost doesn't cost me anything either
I may have started a thread about starting the trial but can't find one, perhaps the Orical will let me know I thought I would have to wait till night time but I see she was on earlier

FFmake sure you pick a carpet that's not too sore on the knees, there is nothing worse than getting carpet burns when asking permission to go somewhere or get something

I couldn't even get on my knees to pray rary! Got one within 10 minutes of being in the shop and also bought a new bed. Superking so we can wave goodnight to each other

Well done on getting the carpet Flo but be aware a supper king bed means more grandchildren (if they are of a that age) we finished with three in the bed with us and less space than we had with a double bed

Evening all,hopes your all well,poor Ted VC time will heal,what weired weather were getting,that heat had me on my back,we however do need the rain,have lost some of me mojo lately for everything,it is good picking things from the garden,the squash is not doing any good,toms seem to be slow growing inside and out,the tromba is taking off and over the poly roof inside,finally got some setting,have a good evening and Bgood2yrselves.

My computer is now virtually unusable and this site, along with twitter, are the worst sites to look at - the screen 'picture' flashes along with the moving ads or gifs. Don't think I'll be back until I've sorted a new'un.

You've mentioned "sand" on 18 threads but not "experimental sweet peas"

In other news, Ted is a lot brighter today (he's been watching Countdown) and his eye is less inflamed. So I'm happier too!

Thanks VC I knew that you would be able to let me know if I had started a thread or not, the sweet pea seeds just happens to be what I had available at the time, though I will need to try the course sand with some mp compost and see how good that is for sowing seeds, and glad to hear that Ted is coming on, that's one thing I miss, having a dog in the house, though I do have my son and daughters to walk I still would like to have one in the house

Funny day yesterday....busy all day but didn't seem to achieve much
I did manage to bake a large orange and lemon cake and leave 2 large pans of melon and apple mush with sugar ready to make jam this morning.
Might make some strawberry jam too later.

Boy did we have heavy rain yesterday I read in the news there was a lot of damage in parts of the uk too? Hope no one was badly affected by it?

Best get a brew on and get cracking!
