Good morning all.
No rain or wind here, think we have seen the last of it for the time being.
A dull start but might improve later.
Hoping to get out to tidy the garden when I come back from mass.
The dahlias and sweetpeas have taken a battering and need attention.
Have a good day all.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
Mornings!
Slept in late cos I was up for a couple of hours in the small hours with crampy legs *sigh*
Everything in the garden survived the battering, just lots of leaves to clear up - allotment to check later, when my legs calm down. I've had to put netting back over the greenhouse doors, now the wasps have found the grapes Waspinator decoy nest obviously doesn't work. (add expletive of choice here!)
Bit cloudy here to start with, but that's all blown away. Shame.
And my veg patch that was looking so lovely two days ago has been hit by a massive red spider mite infestation. I presume they were there before, just that the evidence has now appeared. Squash plants and French beans are devastated. Not sure what action to take. Will ponder on the matter. But all suggestions gratefully received. Can't wet the leaves with a hosepipe and would rather not use a pesticide as bees have been returning.
Other than that, all good so far today. Hope you enjoy your Sunday, guys.
Afternoon all. Note the lack of the word good. Weather awful, me listening to the football on the radio but just about to go make some french onion soup'. Bought some sourdough bread in M&S earlier and will toast with some Comte cheese . That's a cheerer upper

Hi Thelma, as someone who suffers from cramp legs and feet, just some advice drink plenty of wTer during the day and if you drink red wine, lay off it. I have found if I have enjoyed a night out and some nice Malbec or Rioja with food if I haven’t drank lots of water I’m in trouble with carmps under the arch of my foot, or my leg or the back of my shins. For what it’s worth

Thanks for the advice but I have lumbar spinal stenosis (narrowing in the nerve space, which can pinch the nerves) I have had physio which helped and exercises for every day - but now and again I'll have a bad night, despite taking pain killers
Good night all.
No rain today so spent the evening tidying up after the bad weather.
Everything in the garden deadhead and all in the greenhouse watered.
Hope to change some things in the garden in the coming weeks.

Mornin n'alln'all
Gosh....it's getting lighter later these days isn't it?
Not sure what today will bring but I deffo want to do some deadheading .might go for a swim too.
I got all the ironing done yesterday (7 hrs worth!) so I think I deserve a bit of 'me time'
I've noticed that the wasps are appearing here too Thelma. Not as many as usual .....At one time I'd have been relieved to be able to say that, but I now realise it's a bad thing.
Anyone for a brew?...kettle's on!
"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple
Seven hours of ironing, Nicos?!! I haven't done that much in my entire life, let alone in one day.
So, today's news. It's cloudy. The 95% probability of rain yesterday didn't happen. Just some distant thunder. But at least it's cool today, if a bit breezy. Tomorrow's night-time temp is just 10 C. That's going to come as a shock.
Couple of busy days workwise this week, but then I'm on easyish street till the end of the month. It's the big festivities week here, and not just here but across a lot of Spain. Virtually the entire country shuts down for the fiestas. Should be fun.
