  • It's getting darker and darker out there
End of the world...or a very heavy downpour on its way?
    More than likely the latter....
Done a quick scoot around outside and set to crack on with indoor 'stuff' again.
Yes....I do have plenty of the 'I' word to get on with. Maybe there's a good film to watch at the same time?
I also have 2huuuge pans filled with ratatouille ( made yesterday) ready to put in 1litre jars and pop into the water bath so we have some garden produce preserved for the winter.
Frustratingly I had to buy most of the contents( apart from the courgette) for this batch...hopefully we'll eventually get a glut so I can make more....otherwise there's no point in me making them at this time of the year!
Organic shop bought veg are expensive aren't they?????

    • I bought some courgettes this week for the first time in years and it makes you appreciate home grown in more ways than one!

        • afternoon all, been a real typical Scottish day, all kinds of weather . Came home from the plot drenched expecting my line of washing to be in a similar condition but it seems there is some benefit in having my plot 26 miles away

              • Late goodnight or early good morning.
Been on our annual pitch and putt outing since early morning.
Only got back about an hour ago.
A coach load of women out for the day.
Great games, quiz and food and drink.
                One very tired lady.
                Good night all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Out of interest....who held the hosepipe against my bedroom window all night?

                    • Mornings!

Forecast was for a dry day today, so last night I washed my quilt in the bath, and left it there to drain overnight.
Opened the curtains to a lovely blue sky, so put quilt on line. 2 cups of tea later and sky is now dark Boo Hoo! Hope it blows over....

Pulled all the Florence onions yesterday so have tidied them up and put them in the g/house to dry off a bit. If it brightens up again, I'll be on the plots, otherwise it'll be domestics for me.

                      Have a good'un

A friend is having a fish and chip soirée this Friday. I’ve got no chance
Weather is yuk here today, had a long lie in as well.

                          • Good evening, a dry start this morning but when going to church the rain started and was heavy rain until 2 this afternoon as it was heavy rain we stayed in so that OH could get her ironing done though I did give her a hand, I put the ironing board up for her then when the rain stopped I went out to tidy the garden and do some deadheading and weeding then as it stayed dry I got my bulbs planted, so wondering where I will be planting my wallflower, daffodils and tulips now, it's a problem but one that I will manage to solve, we'll enjoy you week and smile. Goodnight
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

                            • Evening all,

Rain was forecast for 2.00pm so I was up early to get a load of washing on. Washing was getting a good blow in the sunshine and was almost dry when I went in for a cuppa at 11.30 am. When I finished my cuppa I looked out and shock horror it was flemmin raining. Big rush to get the washing off the line and inside. It will have to go back out again but I hope it won't be an epic like my last load. It was on and off the line 5 times before I finally got it dry yesterday.
