  • Morning all.

No Nicos, it was a pleasure when the mower was working properly but a bit of a nightmare now but that's it done for another fortnight .

The measuring sticks I made yesterday are now nicely painted with white undercoat. The conundrum now is to leave them as they are or to top coat them with gloss. I'll see how I feel when the undercoat has dried. If glossed they will probably last longer but painting is tedious .

I've been yawning all morning, don't know what that's about as I slept through.

    • Good morning all.
Some ironing to be done here today as well Nicos.
But first I must get my walk done.
      Catch you all later.
      Have a good day.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

        • Morning all, much needed day off
Wonderful to just do my own thing. So. I thought I would look at the ever evolving ‘new’ flower borders.
Just chatting with hubby, discussing who wasn't coming back and who was moving where.
Just lovely watching the plentiful bees and butterflies do their thing.
Bare feet on a beautiful warm lawn.
Then I trod in fox poo. Moment completely ruined. Bare foot as well!!
I have very clean feet now lol
          Have a great day folks

          • Out of interest, do all the keen ironers notice if other people's clothes haven't been ironed? Not trying to stir up trouble, just wanting to know. Especially as Mr Snoop has volunteered to iron things for me.

                • Good afternoon we have had some heavy showers here this afternoon, please and dry but windy just now, church coffee morning this morning then a lazy afternoon (sore knee) till it was time to pick up the boys from school and boy was it chucking it doon about 2.30 but thankfully it went off before the school came out, I have the older 2 just now and all they want to do when they come home is eat I wasn't like that when I was at school and LD a tip I got about painting new plaster was to give it a coat of watered down PVA glue to seal it before painting or papering, and I was playing Iron(ing) Man last night as I ironed 5 pairs of trousers if I let OH iron my trousers the crease is down the seams though I sometime think that was just a ploy to get me to iron as I have shown her the proper way to do it as oftenright need to go as that my s.i.l in

                  • Snoop, yes I do notice if people are wearing creased clothes.
I don't mind wearing clothes with fold lines but not the creased all over look.

Sometimes things come out of the machine onto the line, get folded and can go straight in the drawers - a miracle but most of the time they need ironing, at least a bit!
A tumble dryer works a treat to remove creases - but it also works out expensive - so I iron.

                    Not sheets/pillowcases though

                    • Well done on the ironing Rary,i have heard of that tip, also to water down the first coat of emulsion,i did the latter in the bathroom, and it peeled of a bit where somat had stuck to it,a lot of the older plaster has come up bare after paper removal and sanding done,so just gona treat the whole lot the same,i might just half and half as said with emulsion and water ,plus some PVA,will mix a spoon full and try, leave overnight to dry, then take a review tomoz, thank you, trial and error before finaly commencing.

                      • Evening All Yes, I'd notice unironed clothes Snoop, but only if "smart wear" was the order of the day I suspect guest bedding is the reason for Nicos spending so much time ironing? How lovely to sleep in freshly laundered sheets - bliss. Cold here now so back to fleecy PJs

                              • As for the ironed clothes, as I rarely go anywhere formal, I'll just go about as I am. Seeing as I've met old boys round here working their veg patches in their undies, I don't suppose they will mind. And if the ladies notice, they'll think I'm just a mad foreigner with lazy ways. Which is the case.

Warm but an autumnal nip in the air here. Another skates-on day today. But by this afternoon it'll all be done and dusted (till the next round of madness).

Good luck with the sealant, LD. Hope you get the result you're after.

Catch you later. Meanwhile, have a good one.
