First visable frost this morning as the mercury dropped to 2. Off to the plots shortly to commence battle with the new plot, I cleared most of the perennial weeds in the summer so hopefully it won't be too hard...famous last words!

Have a happy Thursday
At this time of year weeds don't re-appear as quickly after hoe-ing.

Gloss painting skirting and door surrounds today. I fear my knees might give me grief afterwards. I absolutely hate painting, but I am too tight to pay someone to do it.
The one saving grace is if I can get it done reasonably quickly, I may have time for a spot of fishing.
Have a good day everyone and as the fishermen say....tight lines.

Mornings!
Don't know if there was an actual frost, up too late to tell, but it was 3C in the greenhouse last night and only 7C now. Central heating deffo on, morning and evening Brr!
So - it's back to painting today
Morning all. Sorry to hear about all the frosts. Chilly here too, but not that bad.
Busy day today. Got a bit of work to do and quite a bit of cooking. Also hoping to dig up the last of the potatoes. Bit disappointed with the harvest, to be honest. As this was my first year growing in this patch, the ground wasn't great, despite all the muck added. So the ground doesn't drain well, making it difficult to water them properly: they're either bone dry or swimming. Might take a break from potatoes for a year or two while I get the soil properly fettled.
Right, on with the show. Hope you all have a good day.
Mornin n'alln'all
No frost here ...yet!
Absolutely full of a cold though this morning...pah!
* sniff, snot, cough, splutter......
Most of unpacking and washing done. Going to take a look around our veggie patches later. I'm hoping we have plenty of runnerbeans and courgette.
Our spuds are still in the ground Snoop-will probably leave them there for another few weeks as it's freedraining.
I know the feeling about painting Snadge... but I AM very much looking forward to ripping out most of our lounge, staircase and landing over the next few weeks that's the fun bit!!!! Yup, we are on target to start on Monday. I'm really hoping the worst of it is over by Xmas.
I had a lovely surprise yesterday...got a letter through the post from a friend and partner who stayed with us earlier in the year. We wouldn't let them pay for a meal out when they were over...so instead bought me 6months membership on Ancestry!
Wow!....how generous is that?
I was a member for about 5years when we were in the uk...so I've had a look through some of the updated records and already found info I didn't have!
Yippee!
Enjoy your day peeps...nearly weekend!

Evening all. Been a bit drizzly and cold here today so for the main part we've kept ourselves inside where it's been warmer. Looks like loads of folks had frost these last few nights but not us thankfully. Stay warm folks and spend what you have to to do so, even the tight gits amongst us
