  • Mornings!
Woke to another grey and miserable day *sigh* on the bright side I woke up
I'm in need of some exercise, as I'm not gardening - spose I'd better get the dust sheet off the exercise bike First, another cup of tea.....
Trashco delivery this afternoon. Had a quick look yesterday evening and a lot of my usual order (nothing 'different') was out of stock, so I hope they have had overnight deliveries. I wondered if, maybe, folk were stocking up before the 31st - just in case?

    Have a good'un

      • Good morning all.
Lashing rain and part of my front garden is flooded so it must have rained all night.
        Another indoor day of domestics.
        Have a good day all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

        • Afternoon all, it was thick fog when we drove into Dundee to get a recall upgrade done on the car, now the sun has burnt most of it away and it's calm, dry and wall to wall sunshine...………………...it'll never last lol.

          • Looks like we have your rain burnie
Just had an absolutely fantastic thunderstorm...crashes directly overhead too!
It's been lovely and warm all afternoon with sunshine so this amount of rain and wind was unexpected!
Happy though cos we still need lots more rain to soak the soil.
I'm going to regret saying that aren't I?

Spent the afternoon baking but had to stop as I'd run out of butter. How frustarting is that?
Still, I made the quiche for supper, baked 2 dozen chocolate and chilli buns and a large hazelnut and orange cake. Then just had enough butter to make a large pot of lemon curd. ( I'll spread that on a plain vanilla sponge when I have the next baking sesh)
These cakes will go in the freezer. I just didn't want to leave it all to the last minute.

I've managed to get through 24 eggs this afternoon!...still another 6 dozen to use up /freeze though

So now is time for feet up and a brew..and sew some felt pontsettias!
Just fancy one of those chocolate and chilli buns now...mmmm...the house smells lovely!

            • Good evening, it was a nice dry day today so did some digging while one of the grandsons burned some weed roots he tried some digging and he thinks he can lift as much as me, he has a lot to learn, however he was beginning to understand how to use the length of the spade to make it,easier to turn the sod, this evening I had a meeting then off to pick up my daughter and her family who have been down at London for the weekend where it was warm and wet, enjoyed telling her it was dry here Goodnight
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Rary...I seem to have missed about you getting this field....sorry!...any chance of a recap? Sounds lovely to share something like that with your grandson-good bonding session and happy memories for years to come!

Book Club this morning. I could do without going but they are a lovely bunch of peeps and always a pleasure to listen to and then catch up with 'stuff'
More baking later and then sewing.

If the rains hold off I could do with bringing some of the geraniums (which are in pots) nearer to the house to help protect them from the chill for a little while longer. They're still amazingly colourful. Seems a pity to be thinking they need to come indoors in the next few weeks.
Good grief!..I've just realised it's November in a couple of weeks
                  Brew anyone?

                  • Good morning all.
                    What a beautiful autumn morning.
Sunshine, clear sky and a stillness only autumn can bring.
Looking after my grandson this morning so a long walk is on the cards.
                    Have a good day all.

                    • Mornings!
The garden is sodden after more rain in the night, but not thunderstorms - unless I slept through them
The sky isn't quite as dark this morning, so may go for a walk to stretch my legs - pointless looking at the plots - they were so muddy yesterday all I could do was cut loads of dahlias. 4 vases full *big smile*

                      • Afternoon all, been tidying the greenhouse inside, getting ready for a deep clean of the glass and metalwork. Apart from some lettuce everything will be able to come outside whilst I get washing, I use one of those floor sponges that has a lever to squeeze them out, works perfect.

Might be dry for you Flo, but we have sploshy stuff bouncing off the windows! So much so Hibou hasn't even raised her head in anticipation of being let out!
Sort of glad it's like this today so I can stay inside and get more baking and sewing done -I need to feel a bit more on top of things.

Yesterday afternoon I got called out by a friend who had gone into town and as she was about to return home her car wouldn't start...so I drove over to her place, collected her back up car keys and drove to town for her to see if they worked. Nope. So , she left a note on the dashboard, we loaded up her shopping into my car then took her keys to her garage who said they'd go and get/fix it tomorrow ...I drove her home, unpacked and then came home. 30 mile round trip!
Glad it hadn't happened to me -that was so frustrating for her. What's the saying....'if you want a job doing, ask a busy person'
So....hoping for a quiet day indoors today!

First things first...a nice brew to start the day....

                            • Morning,

Suppose to be bringing things home from the allotment this week but not well at the moment. Have give keys back on Sunday. All I've done is sleep for the past 2 days. Seem a bit better today. Wont be doing anything today apart from resting.

                              Have a good day

                              • Mornings!

Hope you feel better soon Carrie and that they know you've still things to collect, though some things just aren't worth the effort when you're feeling poorly, are they?

Persisting down here AGAIN, front path is flooded and Mollycat didn't fancy a swim, so went back up to bed. I'm glad I went for a walk yesterday, cos it looks like another indoors day. Quince jelly to put away & making chutney are next on the list

                                Have a good'un
